Personally, I love New Years. And, that checks out because I also love Mondays, mornings, the start of a new book, project. I’m a fan of beginnings. It’s the middle sustaining and continuing that’s challenging for me. And endings? Oof, stories and lessons for another time. If you’re like me, you’ve been planning out resolutions and goals and intentions for months to begin yesterday. So, from me to you: *high five* LET’S DO THIS! Let me know how I can support you.
If you’re not so into all this New Years energy, if it feels intimidating or defeating, or you just feel bewildered that it’s January, that is also normal. January 1st is a super weird time biologically to be “starting fresh”. We’re not even in mid-winter yet, the days are short and the weather is cold. The trees are bare and the animals are hibernating. All of the signals we are getting from nature at this time of year guide us to slow down, reflect, and rest.
The Springtime is the season of renewal. Spring Equinox (March 20th) is a more natural time for us to lean into a “New Year” mindset. So, if that resonates more with you, if that’s what your body is begging of you, lean in. Gift yourself rest on these dark days.
Whether you want to hit the ground running by starting our new Total Strength Series with Maggie Curtis and build muscle with Karen in Yogalates, or lean into this season of relaxation with Lisa’s Yin Yoga and Devin’s Tai Chi classes. There’s a path for you here at Samsara at The Gentle Place.
