Valentine’s Day is tomorrow!
Long before greeting cards and chocolates, this holiday was connected to an ancient seasonal festival honoring love and fertility called Lupercalia. The name likely comes from the mythical founders of Rome who were raised by a wolf mother. (Lupus = wolf in Latin) There are many wild traditions that come along with this festival, and if you’re looking for more information, you’ve been warned, but here’s one of my favorite shorter Youtube video that explains it well. However you observe it, be it romantically with your partner, as Galentine’s Day with your bestie, or streaking drunkenly through the streets (yes they did that), may tomorrow nourish your relationships, your creativity, and your own well-being.
