As of May 12th, 2023, the Department of Health and Human Services ends the Federal Public Health Emergency for Covid-19.
What does that mean for us at The Gentle Place?
Because of the nature of massage therapy where we spend an hour or more in the confines of a closed room with our clients, we have been very conservative in our decisions about masking. We have a diverse client base with a wide range of health challenges, and protecting the health and wellbeing of our clients, and our staff, is our highest priority.
We continue to hold this priority and ask you to help us by remaining vigilant about your own health, as we shift to the following new masking (and unmasking) protocols.
Updated Masking/COVID19 Policy
Effective May 12th, masking at The Gentle Place will be optional for clients and staff who have no cold or flu symptoms, have not tested positive for Covid in the last 14 days or have not been exposed to someone with Covid in the past 10 days.
Please reschedule your appointment if:
- You are experiencing any symptoms of illness (Covid or not)
- You were exposed to someone with Covid within the last 5 days.
- You tested positive for Covid within the last 7 days, even if you are symptom free.
You can keep your appointment, but must wear a mask if:
- You were exposed to someone with Covid between 5 and 10 days ago and are completely symptom free.
- You tested positive for Covid between 7 and 14 days ago and are completely symptom free.
Masks are still welcomed and encouraged for those who have a heightened need to protect their health or the health of their loved ones. Additionally, those who wish their therapists to be masked during their treatment will also be accommodated.
We will continue to maintain our high cleaning and disinfecting standards throughout the office and in each massage room. In addition to a disinfecting UV-light system in our 2 HVAC systems, all massage rooms are outfitted with state of the art Coway Airmega AP-1512HH air purifiers. These filter 99.9% of air particles as small as 0.003 microns in size and completely filter the room’s air a minimum of 5x per hour. We also schedule 30 minutes between clients, so you can be assured of the air quality in the room for your appointment.
